Blitz, brains and leisure
Two strong blitz qualifiers will be held on 25th March & 26th March.
A specially arranged sightseeing tour for our foreign visitors to the South of Iceland. A bus will leave Reykjavik city at 9:00 a.m. and will take you to the breathtaking Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir – the world famous hotspring (where lunch will be served), and the final resting place of the legendary Bobby Fischer, just outside the town of Selfoss. The tour will take approx. 5 hours. Included in this package is the busride, a guide to the sights, lunch at Geysir Cafe and a short lecture on Fischer in the chapel. The price is 60 euros per person. There are limited seats in this tour.
A special social gathering on a friday night at a pub in 101 Reykjavik – the heart of Reykjavik's renown nightlife. Participants form a team of two and then answer 30 questions about chess (in English). Great starting point towards a journey into the capital's nightlife.
From 24th January til 13th April Reykjavik Art Museum will present an exhibition featuring chess sets designed by some of the world´s leading contemporary artists in a celebration of the game and it´s continued relevance to the creative arts. |
